Treasure Island by Snow Leopard Designs is a beautiful collection of fabrics that is inspired by my painting trips and visits to exotic islands. During the 1970s and early 1980s, I spent a lot of time painting landscapes in the Isles of Scilly. It is a magical group of islands off the southwest tip of England that is bathed in the warmth of the Gulf Stream. Set amid deep blue crystal clear seas, the flora and fauna is far more exotic than the rest of England. I have also spent time snorkeling on Magnetic Island off the North Queensland coast of Australia and have experienced the wonder and beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, with all its wonderful corals and sea life. From the beautiful patterns and colours of the coral reef, the jellyfish, the sea urchins and sea anemones to the exotic fish, butterflies, parrots and rare plants with their beautifully patterned leaves and magnificent flowers, it is these experiences of island life that I have sought to capture in this new collection. I hope that in these fabrics you will also experience the wonder and the atmosphere of these magical islands.
